This free 5K run occurs every Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. All ages are welcome. While many serious runners join us, Parkrun is not a race-- it is a fun run or walk for good health or to track your times. There is an optional social afterwards.
Kids and strollers are welcome. Dogs too! (one dog per runner). Participants tend to span all age groups and levels of fitness.
Our group of dedicated runners let almost nothing stop them, so we're out if it's sunny and beautiful, or if it's snowy and cold. Rarely, weather conditions or global pandemics do force us to re-route or cancel. Check out our Facebook page for last minute updates.
If you'd like to keep track of your time, and have it mailed to you after the race, register here
No experience needed! Both certified Weed Warriors and those learning how to help are welcome to join.

This is not our event, but it's a "fungtastic" way to spend a fall Saturday in the park

NOTE: This is a Baltimore City Rec & Parks event taking place in the park.

Nature Therapy supports healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments. Nature Therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to "forest bathing." Studies have demonstrated a wide array of health benefits, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems, and for stabilizing and improving mood and cognition. What happens when people remember that we are a part of nature, not separate from it, and are related to all other beings in fundamental ways?
Every guided walk is an act of power and beauty, cultivating deep connections with transformational impacts on people and nature. Your guide aims to nurture heart-centered relationships between all peoples and the more-than-human world of nature.
A guide offers an invitation to connect with nature through the senses. Bringing awareness to our human senses can help us become present in the moment. Participants can expect a slow saunter through their environment with opportunities to share with others what they are noticing. Walks are a short distance over natural surfaces and gentle terrain.
Nature Therapy is a practice. It is open-ended; there is no prescription for what a person "should" experience, or what benefits they "should" receive. Instead, it is a practice of developing a deepening relationship of reciprocity, in which the forest and the practitioner find a way to work together that supports the wholeness and wellness of each. During a guided walk with BCRP TreeBaltimore, the guide's clearly defined sequence of events provide structure to the experience, while embracing the many opportunities for creativity and serendipity offered by the forest and the individual inspiration of each guide.
