Winter is a great time to get outside and do some sleuthing for signs of life in Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park. Come out and learn how to ID woody plants using buds and bark, as well as whatever greenery is present in our mid-Atlantic winter.
We'll hike the Windsor Hills Conservation Trail which is very nice in all seasons, with great views of riffles in the river, bedrock outcrops, street car right of way remnants, views of beautiful old houses and the city's champion persimmon tree.
Anyone aged 10+ who enjoys quiet concentration and learning about botany is welcome. And botany beginners are welcome!
Please leave your dogs at home for this one.
We will meet at the upstream trailhead for the Windsor Hills Conservation Trail. It is located at the corner of Clifton Road at Fairfax Road. There is ample street parking nearby.
